input-Translation is a browser extension that translates and rewrites the text you type into input fields, plus a website (inputtranslation.org) that handles sign-in and subscription management. This page explains exactly what we handle, why, and where it goes.
- Nothing leaves your browser until you ask for it. The extension never reads or uploads page content on its own — only when you press
Option+Enter(Alt+Enteron Windows) inside an input field, or when you press Send on the feedback form. - We do not collect your browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, clipboard, or keystrokes.
- We do not sell or rent your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your text to train AI models.

2. What we do not do
- We do not read, scan, or upload page content automatically — no auto-translate, no page scanning, no keystroke logging.
- We do not collect browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, or clipboard contents. The only page URL we ever receive is the one attached to a feedback report you deliberately submit (see section 1).
- We do not store IP addresses in our database and do not use them for quota counting.
- We do not inject ads, and we do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone except the service providers listed below.
- We do not use your text to train AI models.
3. Third parties that receive data
To translate and rewrite text, the text you submit is sent to the provider that handles your request. Our servers try them in order and use the first one available:

Each provider processes requests under its own privacy terms. We send only the text needed for the request.
4. Server logs
Our translation servers write an operational log line per request (languages, which engine answered, response time) so we can diagnose failures and keep costs under control. Those log lines include the text that was sent and the result that came back, because that is what makes a failure reproducible. Logs are used only for troubleshooting and cost control: they are not organized by user, we do not read them to build profiles, and they are overwritten as the logs rotate.
We do not keep a translation history for you, and no translation is ever written to our database.
5. Retention and deletion
- Translated text: not stored in any database — only in rotating server logs as described above.
- Feedback: kept until the reported issue is resolved, then periodically purged.
- Account and subscription data: kept while your account exists. Write us to have your account and its associated data deleted; we action deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Your controls
- Turn off the multi-context panel in the extension popup to stop sending text for rewriting.
- Sign out in the extension to remove the member key from your browser.
- Uninstalling the extension removes all local settings and cached data with it.
- Email us to request deletion of your account or feedback data.
7. Children
input-Translation is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to this policy
Any change is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. If a change materially affects what we collect or how we use it, we will also announce it in the extension.
